More About Caboolture

Located just an hour away from downtown Brisbane, Caboolture (place of carpet snakes in Yugarabul dialect), is close to the beautiful Sunshine Coast and has lots to offer. It has lovely breathtaking mountain vistas, stunning beaches, idyllic villages and is home to the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology which has an enormous collection of artefacts that date from up to 250,000 years ago. There is even the Caboolture Historical Village nearby, which displays some restored buildings. Not very far is the Bribie Island, that is popular with nature lovers (for its more than 350 species of birds, turtles and dolphins to name a few) and water sports enthusiasts.
Caboolture is an important commuter township because of its regular train service, and retail trade being a major employer in the region. Local industries include cattle, tropical fruit, mixed farming, timber and dairy. Recently, with the $17.1 million upgrade of the Caboolture River Bridge, nearly 30,000 vehicles can take advantage of it on a daily basis. Furthermore, another $1 billion has been pumped into infrastructure for the creation of jobs and opening up future investments. Furthermore, a 20-year plan has been implemented, with stress on future developments in mind, such as telecommunication, energy, land use, recycling of water and sewage.
There has been a lot of talk of development in the Caboolture area, since it has been a major centre of administration and commerce in the region, and redevelopment of the central business district to accommodate future growth of professional growth centres and activity hubs.
